Why Optimum POS

Made for the rush, not for the demo

On a busy Saturday everything has to work: the tablets on the terrace, the tickets in the kitchen and the card payment at the table. That is what Optimum POS is built for.

Always keeps working

The POS runs on its own server in your venue. If the internet goes down, you simply keep ordering, printing and checking out. Even tablets without Wi-Fi store orders and send them later, without duplicate tickets.

On any device

Windows, macOS, Linux, Raspberry Pi or Android as the main till, also on a Chromebook. Serve with a tablet, phone or iPad, in the app or simply in the browser. No expensive fixed hardware needed.

Card payments built in

Checkout starts the payment straight away on the card terminal, for exactly the right amount. With tip buttons, bill splitting per person or per product, and gift cards.

Netherlands and Belgium

The same POS for both countries, with the correct VAT rates. In Belgium connected to the black box (FDM, GKS 2.0) with the mandatory details on the receipt.

Insight without Excel

Interim total and end-of-day closing (X/Z), revenue per period, a dashboard, tips per staff member and a direct link with your accounting. The Z report can be emailed every evening.

Secure and auditable

Sign in with a PIN, permissions per role (waiter, manager, administrator), a log of sensitive actions such as voids and discounts, alerts about suspicious patterns and anomalies sent to your phone, and an automatic backup every night.

Your database, your choice

A wide choice of databases: MySQL or MariaDB, built-in (nothing to install) or PostgreSQL. Switching takes one button and brings all your data along: the till first makes a backup, then transfers everything and checks it. Backups are interchangeable between all databases, and with MySQL and MariaDB you read your data with your own reporting or BI software. Even a chain with several locations and tills can share one MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL database.

Your bookkeeping takes care of itself

After each day the till automatically posts revenue, VAT, payment methods and tips to your accounting package, live in 15 packages. In the Netherlands: Acumulus, AFAS Profit, Exact Online, Moneybird, Silvasoft, SnelStart, Twinfield and Yuki. In Belgium: Exact Online, Horus, Silvasoft and Yuki. In both countries: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Odoo, QuickBooks Online, SAP Business One, Xero and Zoho Books. No more retyping, and your accountant sees the day the very next morning. Prefer a file? Download the journal as UBL (Peppol), XAF 4.0 or generic CSV, or ready-made for AccountView, AFAS, Asperion, e-Boekhouden.nl, Exact, InformerOnline, KING, KOMAS, Odoo, Sage BOB 50, SAP Business One, SnelStart, Twinfield, Winbooks or Yuki, or as a daily statement for packages without import. You only see the packages that work in your business's country.

Payroll and scheduling

If your staff clock in and out, the hours worked (and the revenue per staff member) go to your payroll package: ready-made for Loket.nl and SD Worx, and an hours list for ADP, AFAS Payroll, BCS HR, Buddee, Employes, Exact Online Loon, Humanwave, Nmbrs and Salar. In Belgium also for the social secretariats Acerta, Group S, Liantis, Partena Professional and Securex. The revenue goes automatically every hour to your scheduling in Deputy, Dyflexis or Shiftbase, and as a file to Book'u, Eitje, Exact Horeko, Fooks, L1NDA, Mr. Einstein, Nostradamus, Planday, Plan-Me, Shyfter, Strobbo, Tamigo, Werktijden.nl and XPS Logic. This way you see the wage costs next to the revenue; passing on the revenue also works without clock in/out.

Ready for the legal requirements

Belgium: hospitality businesses required to use a certified cash register system (GKS 2.0) connect HorecaPOS to the black box (FDM), with the mandatory data on the receipt. Since 1 January 2026, invoices between Belgian VAT-registered businesses must be sent electronically via Peppol; HorecaPOS exports daily takings as UBL according to Peppol BIS 3, the format Belgian accounting packages read. Netherlands: the XML Auditfile Financieel (XAF) is the Dutch Tax Administration's standard for transferring accounts; HorecaPOS already produces XAF 4.0, the version mandatory from 2027, and for till data the XML Auditfile Afrekensystemen (XAA) recommended by the Tax Administration, with all receipts, corrections and events. Staff: in Belgium the till records employees clocking in and out in the black box, as the certified cash register system requires; the Dimona declaration is done by your social secretariat or scheduling tool, and HorecaPOS supplies the hours. In the Netherlands the till keeps track of working hours per employee, as the Working Hours Act requires. And the new rules of 2026 are included too: a VAT assistant for the new Belgian hospitality rates (since 1 March 2026: takeaway meals and soft drinks 12%, alcohol 21%), planning VAT changes in advance, invoices for businesses as UBL via Peppol (also via Billit, Storecove or Banqup), the age check for alcohol (Alcohol Act), disposables surcharge and deposit as separate lines on the receipt, a warning for cash payments of € 3.000 or more for goods, digital HACCP logging of temperatures and cleaning (Hygiene Code for the Hospitality Sector, FASFC self-checking), and a webshop that complies with the Omnibus rules for struck-through prices and the European Accessibility Act. This way HorecaPOS meets all legal requirements and wishes for hospitality in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Cash drawer and cash machine

Cash payments the way you want: a standard cash drawer, a drawer with a sensor (no new sale while it is open), a separate drawer per staff member with its own count, or a closed cash system that counts, rejects counterfeit money and gives change. Integrated with CashDro, Cashmatic, Azkoyen Cashlogy, CashKeeper, Glory CASHINFINITY, CashGuard, Cikam, ImaCash, PayComplete and Gunnebo SafePay. No more cash discrepancies and no money passing through hands in the kitchen.

Purchasing from your suppliers

The till knows what has run out and creates the order list for your suppliers: wholesalers such as Sligro, HANOS, Makro, Bidfood and De Kweker, drinks wholesalers, brewers and fresh produce suppliers, or your own supplier. Send by email, as a file (CSV, Excel, UBL, EANCOM or cXML), via a direct integration, or automatically to the supplier's server (SFTP or FTPS). On fixed order days the till can place orders itself, and you book the delivery into stock with a single tap. You request the integration from the till.

Reviews in your own POS

After the visit, the POS automatically asks your guests for a review on Google or Trustpilot, and you then simply read and reply to the reviews in the POS: average, number per star, still unanswered and unread in one overview. You sign in with your own Google Business Profile or Trustpilot Business account; you don't need your own API key. Your replies appear under your business's name, and the reviews stay yours: on your own page and only in your own POS.

Speaks your staff's language

The POS in 42 languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Serbian, Albanian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Ukrainian, Russian, Turkish, Arabic, Moroccan Arabic (Darija, in Arabic and in Latin script), Berber (Tarifit and Tamazight), Kurdish (Kurmancî and Soranî), Persian (Farsi), Dari, Pashto, Syriac-Aramaic (Suryoyo), Tigrinya, Amharic, Somali, Papiamento, Sranan Tongo, Hindi, Urdu, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Chinese. The installation also speaks your language, and the POS starts straight away in the language you choose there. Each staff member picks their own language with one tap and the POS remembers it at sign-in. The kitchen ticket is in the language of whoever places the order. The customer receipt is in Dutch by default; under Settings → Business you can choose another language.
